Point 7.2.12 of the NHBC Standards 2021 refers to access hatches been in accordance with Clause 7.2.15, this regards to the hatch providing adequate fire resistance. - All Premium Timber Ladders provided and installed by T&G Lofts, meet these standards and requirements.
Point 7.2.15 also refers to the installation of the space having clear ventilation paths. By using 138mm timbers on top of your existing (the size of our new timber used depends on you the size of your existing, each job can differ slightly), we clear over the required 200mm insulation creating a raised floor system to meet the requirements. Our raised floor system allows a clear ventilation path above the insulation, again meeting all requirements set by the HNBC Standards.
Thus, by installing our system, you would not void your HNBC 10 Year Warranty.
